GWINNER, N.D. (AP) - Dollar General is building five stores in southeastern North Dakota as the company expands its footprint into the state.
The company expects the stores to open in 2017.
Todd Vasos, Dollar General's chief executive officer, says expanding into North Dakota gives the company an opportunity to deliver value and convenience to more customers in the upper Midwest.
Stores are under construction in Oakes, Ellendale, Hankinson, Hillsboro and Gwinner. The company says it plans to identify more areas for store growth in North Dakota.
