FOSSTON, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - A 71-year-old Clearwater County, Minn. man has been charged with 2nd degree attempted murder in connection with a shooting that injured a Polk County Deputy. Carstie Lee Clausen was also charged with use of force against a peace officer.
The helicopter was flying over a suspected marijuana grow when it was struck twice by gunfire. A Polk County deputy on board was injured by broken glass when one of the chopper’s windows shattered.
The helicopter landed at the nearby Fosston airport and the deputy was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
During a court appearance Tuesday, bail for Clausen was set at $150,000 with conditions or $300,000 without conditions.
