FARGO (KFGO) - The owner of Fargo's iconic college hang-out, Bison Turf, says a few "hickup's" will delay the re-opening.
Most of the bar burned in a fire last July. Last month, contractors tore down all but the front walls with the glass block features which were part of the original building built in 1934. A skeleton of new wood framing has been completed for the bar's first floor.
Pete Sabo says yesterday, the contractor found out the entry to the basement did not meet code so that's going to require additional work to pass inspection. He says if there are no more "surprises" the bar should be open by early June, complete with items that were salvaged after the fire.
A large second floor patio is also planned as part of the one million dollar re-build.
