FARGO (KFGO) - Sen. Heidi Heitkamp was at the White House to attend a classified briefing for senate members regarding North Korea's nuclear threat.
Heitkamp tells KFGO News that she remains convinced North Korea is "an extreme threat" that needs to be dealt with effectively.
“I think the greatest existential threat to American security is North Korea” Heitkamp said. “My opinion of that did not change today.”
The White House says President Trump want to pressure North Korea into dismantling its nuclear, ballistic missile and proliferation programs, and is engaging the international community to persuade Kim Jong Un's government “to de-escalate and return to the path of dialogue.”
