DILWORTH (KFGO) -- Hundreds of people turned out at the Dilworth Community Center Monday for a benefit for a Moorhead police officer battling brain cancer. About $50,000 was raised during a pasta feed and silent auction for Officer Brad Schenck, who attended with his family.

Schenck says people are giving him more than just financial help. People are volunteering to do things like mow his lawn, babysit, and help around the house. "I feel totally loved, from my friends and family, the community coming together for me, it's truly amazing," Schenck said.

Schenck was diagnosed with a brain tumor and Stage Two cancer in May. Doctors were able to remove about 75-percent of the tumor.

Schenck is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy and isn't able to return to work yet.
