WASHINGTON - Members of North Dakota's congressional delegation have issued statements saying their thoughts and prayers are with a colleague who was shot and wounded during practice for a charity baseball game in a Washington suburb.
Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana was hospitalized after being shot in the hip. Several other people were injured.
North Dakota U.S. Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp and U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer all condemned the attack and lauded Capitol police for their actions in stopping the gunman.
Hoeven, Heitkamp and Cramer are not on the congressional baseball teams.
