GRAND FORKS, ND (KFGO-KNOX) - Fire has struck the downtown Grand Forks railroad bridge. Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Rick Aamot described it as “a large fire” on the pier closest to the edge of the Red River.
Aamot said five Grand Forks fire department units and an aerial responded. He said the original call came around 5:30 or 6:00 AM. Aamot is unsure of how much damage there was.
The cause of the fire is unknown. One firefighter suffered a hand injury. The fire marshal is investigating.
The railroad bridge is closed along with part of 3rd St.
