Grand Forks, N.D. (KFGO) - A man wanted in connection to an Iowa homicide was taken into custody in Grand Forks Monday night.
The Grand Forks Police Department was notified Monday by the Des Moines Police Department that 41-year-old Randy Miles, Jr. may be in the Grand Forks area. Miles was wanted by Iowa authorities because he may have information that is critical to the resolution of a homicide investigation.
The Grand Forks Police Department says around 8 p.m. Monday, an off duty federal agent spotted a man matching Miles description in the 3000 block of North Washington Street.
When officers arrived on scene, the man, who offiecer confirmed was Miles, ignored commans to stop but once two K-9 units arrived, Miles complied and was taken into custody.
Des Moines detectives will come to North Dakota interview Miles. No criminal charges have been filed.
The detectives are investigating the slaying of 26-year-old Christopher Lenhart, who was set on fire Friday afternoon. Police say Lenhart died Sunday at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
