Arthur, N.D. (KFGO) - A week ago Thursday, the historic dance barn near Arthur, North Dakota went up in flames.

But despite loosing the barn and its contents, Arthur's Barn owner Delon Cahoon says this won't be the end.

"Yes we plan on rebuilding," Cahoon said. "We've had so much support and so many people call, you know, they want the barn rebuilt. And it was just the great people we met there; my biggest joy was watching the big smiles and grins and the young people, well, not only the young people, even older people just dance. It was just a fun place."

The Cahoon family has set up a GoFundMe to help with their rebuilding plans.

Cahoon says he hopes to have a new barn up and start dances again by September 2018.

The fire at the former Johnson's Barn on October 26th spread quickly thanks to high winds. The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the cause was an electrical malfunction.
