FARGO (KFGO) - A close call for a Fargo police officer responding to a disturbance call outside an apartment building in the 2900 block of 34th Ave. S around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The officer located a vehicle that matched the description of the one given by the person who reported the fight.

"The officer attempted to make contact with the occupants and have them step out of the vehicle to question them," said Sgt. Joel Erickson. "At [that] point, the driver did make eye contact with the officer and backed up at a high rate of speed and almost ran over the officer."

The officer was not injured.

Erickson says police made a felony stop on the vehicle several blocks away and arrested Dalton Beyer, 27, of Moorhead. Beyer is facing a number of charges including aggravated reckless endangerment, narcotics possession, DUI and DUI refusal.
