FARGO (KFGO) - The Emergency Food Pantry in Fargo says demand is up and it has run short of certain food supplies and could use some help.

Executive Director Stacie Loegering says this is the first time in three years stocks canned meat and vegetables have been this low. She says normally this is time of year, supplies are good and enough to meet increased needs between Thanksgiving week and Christimas.

A plea on Facebook provided enough canned food to last several days but Loegering says more canned meat and vegetables are needed. On average, the Food Pantry sees 12-hundred households a month.

If you'd like to help, financial contributions are best. Checks can be dropped off or mailed to the Fargo Emergency Food Pantry at 1101 4th Avenue North or made on-line, at Emergencyfoodpantry.com and look for a link at the bottom of the page. $21 will feed a family of four for one week.
