Man pleads guilty to DUI and crash at Dakota Access pipeline protest campsite

MANDAN, N.D. ( KFGO) - A South Dakota man is accused of drunken driving and crashing into an occupied teepee at a Dakota Access pipeline protest camp in Morton County. 

24-year old Bryce Ironhawk pleaded guilty Friday to misdemeanor charges of aggravated reckless driving and driving under the influence. 

A Bureau of Indian Affairs officer clocked Ironhawk driving 113 mph on Highway 1806. Ironhawk later drove through the main protest camp area, hitting flag poles and then striking a teepee. A man was inside but refused medial attention. 

Ironhawk's blood-alcohol content was .17, more than double the legal limit The 2012 Chevy Camaro Ironhawk was driving was allegedly stolen from Eide Ford in Bismarck. 

The Morton County State's Attorney says additional charges are possible.
