GRAFTON, ND (KFGO) - Police reports are providing more details in the investigation of a Grafton, ND woman who locked four children in a dog cage.

Jordan Nelson entered an Alford plea of guilty to four counts of child abuse or neglect. Four additional felonious restraint charges were dismissed.

A Grafton Police Dept. report was obtained through an open records request by KFGO News. The report contains additional allegations that Nelson forced the children’s faces into buckets of cold water and sprayed them with water bottles while they went to the bathroom.

The 37-page report says Nelson exposed herself to the children, sat on their faces and forced them to stand in the corner with their arms held out.

The police report includes notes from social workers who interviewed the victims and drawings of the dog cage made by the children.

The report indicates that the children told investigators that the dog kennel was located in the basement of a home Nelson shared with the children's mother.

Nelson was sentenced to 2-1/2 years in prison. She could have faced up to 45 years on the original charges.
