DWIGHT, ND (KFGO) - A semi collided with a train about 10 miles northwest of Wahpeton, ND.
The crash happened at a Red River Valley and Western railroad crossing on Richland County Highway 10, about a mile outside Dwight, ND.
The driver of the semi survived the feiry crash. The semi was destroyed and the locomotive was partially derailed.
The semi was pushed about a block down the track. The semi driver, 30 year-old Mahamoud Hussein of Minneapolis, managed to escape on his own and walk to the highway. He was treated for minor injuries.
RRV&W Railroad President Nate Asplund says the crash is another example of the consequences when drivers don't pay attention at railroad crossings.
